We offer a free rank test every six weeks to ensure that everyone who is ready can advance in rank.
Hospitality is paramount to our culture.
We enjoy seeing each student when they show up for class. We greet everyone at the door by name. We offer free makeup lessons to students who have missed class.

SENSEI CHRIS POLLMAN
Owner
Chris Pollman is our beloved leader. Known as "Sensei," meaning "Teacher," he started his martial arts career in 1967. He studied Okinawan Karate-Do with Ichiro Takahata. He competed for many years in tournaments in Oklahoma and surrounding states. He is a Board of Director member of Budo-Kai International and serves on the Joe Lewis Fighting System's Advisory Board.
Instructors
Instructors teach new and advanced students as well as the leadership team. They are under the guidance of Sensei Chris and work as a team to strengthen students as well as one another.
April started karate at the age of 16. She has been practicing Martial Arts for over 30 years, working also as an instructor at the Chris Pollman Karate Academy. April has competed in kickboxing, cage fighting and, karate tournaments. She has worked with Martial Arts businesses on the west coast, and earned her black belt through the Joe Lewis Fighting Systems on the east coast. She loves working with children and teens. “Watching others progress and grow as martial artists is the biggest joy in my life.”
Sensei April Sauer
Instructor
Keefer started karate at the Chris Pollman Karate Academy when he was 5 years old. Today, he is a 5th degree Black Belt and a full-time Martial Arts instructor. Keefer is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. When he is not teaching, he is spending time with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys spending time with friends and family and working on his 3-D printed projects.
Sensei Keefer Royalty
Instructor
Colten started karate at age 7. He is a 23 years old graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Parks and Recreation Management. He now enjoys working at the Chris Pollman Karate Academy helping with classes and guiding others to find their own passion for Martial Arts. Colten is an avid outdoors-man and loves skiing, rafting, backpacking, and mountain climbing.

Leadership Team
Our leadership team is hand-picked for specific qualities: 1. They have a great attitude toward learning, 2. they are helpful to their classmates, and 3. they enjoy working with other students. These are what we consider "the best of the best." Each leader takes a 16 hour course on how to effectively teach Martial Arts. They attend class every week to practice their teaching skills under the instruction of Sensei Pollman, Sensei Clayton, & Sensei Royalty. This class is by invitation only and is tuition free.
James Sylvester

James Sylvester is a martial arts enthusiast who enjoys all types of arts, like karate and BJJ.
James goes to school at Thomas-Fay-Custer Public Schools and enjoys playing video games with friends from school and doing karate.
He loves his family and cares deeply for them. James enjoys the friendships he’s made in karate. James is 16 years old and has been in karate since 2023.
Doug Chain
Leadership Team Member
Douglas began taking classes at the Dojo in 2021 when he was 47 years old. He became interested in karate after watching his son take classes, and decided to join in on the fun. Douglas has competed in 2 tournaments and many demonstrations. Douglas earned his Black Belt in August 2024. He says that the Dojo is his happy place, and he always learns from classes whether he is participating, helping out, or observing. His favorite thing in karate is being in class with his son, Lucas.
Desmond Madden
Leadership Team Member
Desmond Madden is 57 years old and has been taking karate since 2021. He began practicing karate to improve his physical health. But he says that he has gained a lot more than just better health. He has gained new friends. Desmond holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology and a Master’s degree in Art Education with an emphasis in 3-D Studio. He enjoys 3-D printing and conceptual design engineering. He does all of this while being 5 times past what is considered legally blind! He is King of the Impossible.
Gracie Rivas

Hi! I’m Gracie Rivas, and I have been in karate since 2015. I enjoy crocheting in my free time, as well as baking. I am in band and enjoy playing eight different types of music. My favorite part of karate is practicing and learning traditional forms. I am a senior at Clinton High School and a member of the National Honor Society.
Presley Balderas

I’m Presley Balderas, and I’ve been in karate since 2023. I have been helping the SuperKids Class since 2024. Reading and long night walks are my favorite things. I am a huge people pleaser. I love talking with my friend Gracie Rivas.
Victoria Stein

Hi, I’m Victoria Stein. I love Jazz and God, but I’m also required to say karate. Especially since I’m here all the time! Since I started in 2019, I have become increasingly involved, which isn’t always easy, but I wouldn’t change it for the world! This place will always have a special place in my heart, even if it gets in the way of naps.
Ozlo Jones

I am Ozlo Jones, I’m 16. I have been in karate since 2017. I like to greet as many people as I can at the door. I enjoy playing the flute. Jumping on a trampoline, walking outside, and visiting my friends. I am fascinated by physics, and to a greater extent, biology. Although I’d rather not do math if that is possible.
Samantha Mueller is 15 years old and has been in karate since 2025. She loves baking, horseback riding, and chickens. She enjoys learning traditional forms, as well as hunting and fishing, which are among her favorite activities. She loves karate and enjoys baking for the leadership team.
